Description

This screw-on channel magnet is a flat countersunk block magnet with two holes, embedded in a U-shaped steel profile. With direct contact, the steel significantly strengthens the magnet's adhesive force and at the same time protects it from blows. Its minimal thickness of only 4 mm allows for inconspicuous magnetic mounting of signs, tools and more. It is especially suitable for carpentry, kitchen installations, exhibition stand construction, shopfitting, signage technology, etc.

Please note: Not all holding surfaces are level, which is why magnets need a little slack. This allows them to optimally align with the ferromagnetic object and extend the highest adhesive force. That is why we recommend fastening these magnets by hand.

The following screws fit into the hole of these magnets, for example:

  • Slotted countersunk wood screw: DIN 97 (3,5 mm)
  • Cross recessed countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 7046-2 M3 (3 mm)
  • Hexalobular socket countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 14581 M3 (3 mm)
  • Hexagon socket countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 10642 M3 (3 mm)

Please note: The full adhesive force is achieved when the ferromagnetic counterpart is smooth and of sufficient thickness and when the pot magnet makes direct and full flush contact. Pot magnets already lose much of their adhesive force at a distance of only half a millimetre to the ferromagnetic surface. This characteristic is more pronounced in pot magnets than in other ferrite and neodymium magnets. You can find additional fascinating information on our FAQ page about pot magnet features.

The structure of pot magnets

Pot magnets have a neodymium or ferrite magnet built into a steel pot. When it comes into direct contact with a surface, its force will be focused on the holding surface as a result. This increases the adhesive force of the magnet. For more information, please refer to our FAQ page on the characteristics of pot magnets.
