Easily repair a toy figure with Sugru adhesive putty

Did you ever have to comfort your children when their favourite toy figure lost a limb? Throwing the toy away is not a sustainable choice and, due to the emotional connection, is not really an option anyway. A repair is needed! We will show you how you can revive (almost) any favourite toy with the help of Sugru adhesive putty.

Sugru adhesive putty, broken toy figure, toothpicks or some water (optional)

Materials needed

Sugru adhesive putty in the desired colour
Toy figure or toy to be repaired
If necessary: toothpicks, some water or other tools

Mould the Sugru into the right shape

Pull the required amount of adhesive putty from the Sugru block and shape it with your hands.

Please note: Once the package of Sugru has been opened and the adhesive putty is exposed to air, the hardening process begins and the putty remains malleable for approx. 30 minutes. We, therefore, recommend making several repairs when you open a pack of Sugru so that the putty does not dry out and becomes unusable.

Apply the Sugru

Next, apply the adhesive putty to your patient and press it on firmly.

Shape the surface

Now you can smooth out the surface of the adhesive putty while shaping and modelling it as desired. A toothpick or a little water may be helpful here.

Tip: There are no limits to your creativity when it comes to selecting colours. Match the colour specifically to your object by kneading several colours together, or design trendy patterns in different colours or shapes to give your toy a certain uniqueness. In our example, the little figure got a pretty orange "bandage".

Leave to dry

Let the repaired toy figure dry for 24 hours. The Sugru will stay bendy and flexible even after it is fully cured, and nothing will stand in the way of new fun and games with your children.

Another good example: Here, the toy's wheelchair was missing a tire which was quickly replaced with Sugru.
